Introduction
Welcome to the Purdue OWL resource area for writing job search materials. These resources were created by a 2007–2010 project called the Community Writing and Education Station (CWEST). CWEST (pronounced "quest") was designed to be a sustainable, collaborative civic engagement literacy project in close cooperation with LARA, a local adult basic education program, and the WorkOne facility.
This section of the site provides information about a number of job search documents WorkOne Express staff members have identified as important. These resources differ from other Purdue OWL job search documents because they are specifically designed for skilled labor positions. Here you will find information on the following:
- Reading and using job ads
- Filling out job applications
- Writing résumés
- Writing cover letters
- Writing follow up and thank you letters
- Sample documents (Job ads, résumés, cover letters, follow up and thank you letters).
