Nota: La 7a edición de APA no contiene instrucciones explícitas para ciertas fuentes de impresión menos comunes que abarcaban ediciones anteriores porque enfatiza en gran medida las fuentes digitales y electrónicas. Por esta razón, algunos de los ejemplos siguientes se han adaptado de instrucciones para fuentes con atributos similares (por ejemplo, el de actas de conferencia se deriva de la instruccions en el manual de la 7a edición da para citar colecciones editadas). Los ejemplos a continuación , han sido adaptados y van acompañados de una nota explicando su adaptación.
Tenga en cuenta que los títulos no suelen escribirse en mayúscula en español como en inglés. Hemos mantenido este formato para los títulos traducidos a continuación. Los títulos que no han sido traducidos permanecen en mayúscula. Esto también es cierto para las comillas: en español, los puntos se colocan fuera de las comillas, pero en inglés, se colocan dentro. Esperamos que la presencia de ambos estilos sea ilustrativa.
Entrada en un diccionario, diccionario de sinónimos o enciclopedia con un autor de grupo
La 7a edición del manual de APA no proporciona orientación específica sobre cómo citar obras de referencia físicas como diccionarios, tesauros o enciclopedias. Por lo tanto, esta cita, así como la de un autor individual de una entrada en una obra de referencia, se basa en la de un capítulo de un libro editado o antología, ambos similares en formato a las obras de referencia.
Nombre de la institución u organización. (Año). Título de la entrada. En Título de trabajo de referencia (edición, números de página). Nombre del editor.

Entrada en un diccionario, diccionario de sinónimos o enciclopedia con un autor individual
